About the Company:

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous agency of Government responsible for maintenance, coordination, supervising and monitoring of the National Statistical System to ensure the collection, analysis and dissemination of standardised statistical information. The Bureau is also mandated as the principal official statistics producing agency in the country. The Bureau is also mandated as the principal official statistics producing agency in the country.

 

About Survey:

The Bureau in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UN Women intend to conduct the Uganda Malaria Indicator Survey (UMIS) and National Governance, Peace and Security Survey (NGPSS) is seeking to recruit highly competent, motivated, results oriented, dynamic, team players of good character and high integrity to carry out the exercise.

 

Job Summary:  To undertake effective NGPSS Data collection as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all training sessions.
  • Locate the assigned Households in the work allocation.
  • Collect information in all the assigned areas.
  • Ensure that all the Field materials/equipment are properly handled, used, and returned to the supervisor after the enumeration exercise.
  • Document any challenges and report immediately
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a Credit in Mathematics and English
  • Certificate in Computer applications is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience of continuous data collection.

Skills and other attributes

  • Good computer knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Must be available exclusively for the NGPSS activity.
