Position Overview

The Technical Officer in Clinical Services will ensure the quality of care activities within Enabel-supported facilities, focusing on Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health/Nutrition (MNCH), and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The role involves implementing Ministry of Health policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support health facilities’ readiness for obstetric emergencies and dissemination of best practices for pregnancy and postpartum care.
  • Assist facilities in collecting, analyzing, and timely reporting data to improve maternal and neonatal health indicators.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for facility staff and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery, Nursing, Medicine, or Surgery.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Midwifery, or Nursing is an added advantage.
  • Valid practicing license from Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Association or Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Association.
  • Strong clinical skills in midwifery and obstetrics, with demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with district and regional officials.
  • Knowledge of Maternal Newborn Child/Adolescent Health programming in Uganda, including key Government priorities.
  • Excellent training and mentoring skills and experience in developing and implementing data-collection instruments and reporting.

  • A salary package between UGX 84,000,000 and UGX 96,000,000, commensurate with experience, including medical insurance and a 13th-month salary paid in December.
