Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and interviewing prospective employees to align with the Bank’s strategic plans. This role involves managing the end-to-end talent acquisition process in collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality talent.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition (40%)

  • Develop and execute a talent acquisition plan aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities.
  • Implement innovative sourcing strategies to build a diverse talent pool.
  • Drive cost-saving resourcing strategies and explore creative talent-capturing solutions.
  • Manage search strategies for senior and niche candidates.
  • Enhance internal mobility by considering internal candidates before external sourcing.
  • Advise hiring managers on candidate progression and negotiate release dates.
  • Ensure timely onboarding of new hires and adherence to policies.

Stakeholder Management (20%)

  • Maintain clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cascade the talent acquisition plan and build relationships with candidates.
  • Provide regular updates on resourcing strategy and key performance indicators.
  • Act as a liaison between Absa and recruitment agencies.

Report Writing (10%)

  • Manage the Talent Acquisition Scorecard and vacancy tracker.
  • Provide continuous feedback to hiring managers and prepare monthly reports for governance meetings.

Talent Mobility (10%)

  • Support inbound and outbound international assignees in collaboration with the International Mobility team.

Governance, Risk, and Control (20%)

  • Ensure compliance with talent acquisition policies and standards.
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for visas and permits.
  • Educate managers on talent acquisition policies and maintain accurate system data.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in Talent Acquisition or broad-based HR business partnership.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of recruitment processes, employment regulations, and financial budgeting.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with assessment instruments (e.g., SHL, Korn Ferry) is an advantage.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Collaboration, customer excellence, effective communication, and emotional intelligence.
  • Cognitive Competencies: Ethics and integrity, analytical thinking.
