Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing exceptional service to colleagues and members.
  • Deliver a memorable member experience at each touchpoint.
  • Build relationships with members by asking effective questions to understand their needs.
  • Present UNFCU’s products and services to meet members’ current and future needs.
  • Investigate and resolve issues with member accounts/loans in a timely manner, keeping members informed of the status.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures while keeping up-to-date with changing regulations and technology.
  • Verify eligibility of prospective members, establish new memberships, and open new accounts.
  • Respond to member telephone inquiries and prepare responses to member correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all member account information.
  • Assist with clerical/reception duties and other functions to improve office efficiency as needed.
  • Make member presentations and conduct service calls, including to members at out-of-duty stations.
  • Participate in Credit Union training programs.
  • Exhibit flexibility and perform other functions as requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • A university degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with retail banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of regulations pertaining to accounts, services, confidentiality, and lending, or the ability and willingness to learn these practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use other applications.
  • Strong service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
