About ACORD-U

The Agency for Cooperation in Research and Development – Uganda (ACORD-U) has been operating in Uganda since 1979 and currently works in over 43 districts across the country. ACORD-U focuses on Health, Livelihoods, Climate Change, WASH, Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), Research, and Peace Building. ACORD-U is implementing the USAID OVC West Central Activity, which aims to improve the well-being of children and youth through comprehensive interventions to prevent new HIV infections, provide ongoing care for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and their caregivers, and expand access to core services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support ICT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ICT-related issues for users in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support for online platforms, data management systems, and digital tools used in program implementation.
  • Manage and secure organizational data, ensuring backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new technology solutions to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Train and support staff on ICT-related skills and promote effective use of technology within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in ICT support, preferably within an NGO or similar environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing ICT systems, troubleshooting software/hardware issues, and working with various digital platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide technical support to non-technical staff.
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of ICT security, data management, and emerging technologies in the ICT sector.
