The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is a multilateral financial institution established in 1993 promot and finance intra- and extra-African trade. Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, Afreximbank’s mission is to stimulate the expansion, diversification, and development of African trade while providing financial services, such as trade finance, project financing, expo comment banking. The Deputy Group Treasurer, reporting to the Managing Director, Group Treasury & Markets, will oversee daily Treasury & Markets operations and lead the Client Solutions Unit. This role supports the Bank’s goal of boosting Africa’s global trade share through growth and diversification, with a focus on generating non-funded income and meeting the revenue targets set in the Bank’s budget.
Manage Treasury & Markets Client Solutions, collaborating with Client Relations to market products effectively, aiming to become the go-to for treasury risk management solutions.
• Design client-specific financial risk management solutions and launch an automated portal for clients to manage these solutions.
Support the Group Treasurer in updating the treasury and markets strategy, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s overall strategy. Implement the Group Treasury Strategy as part of the Bank’s medium-term plan. Create an annual Treasury and Markets work plan.
• Review and ensure Treasury & Markets resources meet strategic needs with the Group Treasurer. Oversee planning, analytics, reporting, and performance management. Collaborate on the annual Treasury and Markets plan.
• Regularly update the Group’s Cash and Liquidity strategy with the Group Treasurer. Manage daily operations, working with Liquidity & Relationship and Balance Sheet Risk Management teams.
