Position Overview

As an Assistant Quality Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products consistently meet the highest quality standards associated with the Ntake brand. You will report to the Head of Quality Control and be responsible for maintaining hygiene standards, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hygiene and Sanitation: Oversee and enforce hygiene and sanitation practices within the bakery.
  • Product Quality Checks: Inspect finished products and guide corrective actions for defects.
  • Process Monitoring: Ensure adherence to production processes from mixing to packaging.
  • Quality Control Records: Maintain records of quality checks, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Product Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of products at various stages of production.
  • Testing and Sampling: Perform tests such as moisture content checks, weight assessments, and sensory evaluations.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Keep detailed records of quality checks and corrective measures.
  • Compliance and Standards: Implement and adhere to UNBS guidelines and internal standards.
  • Training and Education: Train production staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Address quality issues in collaboration with production teams.
  • Customer Feedback: Analyze feedback to refine recipes and processes.
  • Audit and Review: Conduct audits and review quality control procedures for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Diploma or advanced certificate in Food Science and Technology or related fields such as Bakery Science, Chemical Engineering (Food Processing), Biotechnology (Food Applications), Agricultural Science (Food Production), or Industrial Chemistry (Food Additives).
  • Experience: Previous experience in the bakery industry is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, team-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Job Experience: No specific requirements.
