About the Company:
Makerere University, established in 1922, is Uganda’s largest and oldest institution of higher learning and the oldest currently active university in East Africa. It became an independent national university in 1970 and continues to be a leader in education, research, and innovation.
Qualifications:
- PhD Applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree from a recognized university in the relevant field of study (Plant Breeding, Seed Systems, Crop Protection, Soil Fertility Improvement, Agricultural Economics and Value Chains, or Agricultural Extension and Rural Innovations). The degree should have been obtained within the last 5 years.
- MSc Applicants: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Plant Sciences, or an equivalent from a recognized university.
- Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be available full-time during the scholarship period (4 years for PhD and 2 years for MSc).
- Age limits: 35 years for MSc and 45 years for PhD applicants.
- Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
