Job Summary:  To Grow bank deposits as per the set targets through Selling bank products and services to institutional and public sector customers, including, Multinationals, large corporations, Development organizations, NGOs, Telco’s, financial institutions, Governments, and government parastatals,

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of strategies necessary to acquire and sustain business in Institutional Banking.
  • Obtain a higher wallet share from existing and new institutional customers by offering superior services, competitive pricing, and a flexible product range.
  • Work actively with the Relationship Team in corporate and other segments to drive the growth of liabilities through the sales of various bank products in the Institutional and Public sector space.
  • Champion strategic partnerships and social visibility of the TBL Brand in the Public Sector space
  • To champion the growth of non-funded income, including Forex, Insurance, trade finance, and other commission-based income.
  • Monitor product development and pricing of competitors. Anticipate market trends and counter competitive pressures.
  • Identify customer needs and proactively seek to provide products/ services to meet the identified needs.
  • Initiate and monitor customer/bank contact at all levels for assigned clients to ensure that the highest standards of service are maintained.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of institutional and public sector customer queries.
  • Market a portfolio of deposit accounts with the objective of raising Institutional Banking deposits at minimum cost
  • Work with the corporate RMs to ensure that the accounts of top borrowers are funded.
  • Manage the telcos, utility corporations, NSSF, and URA accounts to increase the bank’s deposit and fee collection.
  • Make regular visits to clients for both monitoring and business generation purposes.
  • Coordinate and support the branches in running effective Institutional and Public Sector local area activations.
  • Support in providing specialist sector information & governance and conducting training on the structure and workings of the Public Sector to the bank’s Business, Credit, Risk & Compliance teams.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education & Training

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management, or any relevant field.
  • Relevant Practical training in business growth in the financial services sector

Skills & Experience

  • Must have critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Banking or similar environment.
  • Advanced computer literacy, numerical skills, and statistical skills.
  • Team player, ability to work under pressure and in a position to exercise excellent judgment.
