Job Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Administrative Management Assistant (CDC). This role oversees day-to-day administrative functions and logistical coordination, supporting one or more branches in the CDC Uganda country office.
Work Schedule:
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Start Date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications.
Supervisory Position:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage office administration, including transcription and distribution of meeting minutes.
- Prepare correspondence and documents.
- Arrange travel, process procurement, and handle maintenance requests.
- Coordinate time and attendance and manage motor pool arrangements.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Evaluations:
Education:
- Completion of two-year college or university studies is required.
Experience:
- Two years of office administration or secretarial experience in a busy and multi-cultural organization/institution is required.
Job Knowledge:
- General knowledge of secretarial work, office management procedures, and office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office) is required.
Language Requirements:
- English level IV (Fluent) speaking and writing ability required.
- Luganda Level 3 (Good working knowledge) speaking, reading, and writing ability required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent and accurate typing and computer skills, emphasizing speed and accuracy.
- Ability to draft correspondence and maintain orderly files.
- Must demonstrate methodical work habits.
Additional Information:
- Security Clearance Required: Local Security Certification or Public Trust
- Duration Appointment: Indefinite, subject to successful completion of the probationary period.
