Job Summary:

The Finance Support role at Oxfam is primarily focused on providing routine filing support, ensuring the efficient organization and retrieval of financial and project documentation. This role is vital for maintaining systematic records, aiding audits, and supporting the finance team with various administrative tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document Retrieval and Scanning:
    • Assist with the retrieval and scanning of project documents for the Denmark team, Country Office, and other hosted teams/projects.
    • Support documentation retrieval for audits and other needs.
  • Finance Review:
    • Perform basic finance reviews of sampled documentation for audit purposes.
  • Filing and Labeling:
    • Ensure systematic hard copy filing of documentation.
    • Label hard copy files accurately and systematically.
  • Documentation Management:
    • Stamp documentation as required.
    • Scan and organize soft copies of financial documents.
    • Ensure proper archiving and storage of hard copy documents.
  • Additional Support:
    • Undertake any additional roles or tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Relevant academic qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Economics (such as BBA, BCOM, DBA, DCOM, DAF), or a related field.
  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • Significant knowledge and experience in accounting and finance practices.
    • Proficiency in numeracy skills and computer usage.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
    • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
    • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
    • High level of self-awareness, personal energy, and flexibility.
    • Ability to work independently and under own initiative.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well with co-workers and other stakeholders.
