About the Role: The SAACO Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the SACCO in accordance with policies, bylaws, and Financial Accounting Standards. Reporting to the Executive Committee/Chairperson, the role involves processing SACCO payments, conducting reconciliations, preparing tax returns, and maintaining the SACCO asset register.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process SACCO payments to meet client and stakeholder needs.
- Conduct reconciliations of payments and address inconsistencies.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other statutory deductions.
- Maintain and update the SACCO asset register.
- Review and improve internal controls to safeguard SACCO resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance or Accounting) from a reputable institution.
- Desirable ACCA or CPA qualification (or in progress, Level 2 minimum).
Experience:
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in professional accounting or auditing.

- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good command of the English language.

- Demonstrates unquestionable integrity and strong leadership skills.
