Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, inventory management and taxation. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Post all transactions into the accounting system
Receive and reconcile cash receipts and make payments for stock upon approval
Review all stock requests by sales representatives and ensure daily reconciliation
Receive stock into the warehouse, monitor inventory levels and place orders for stock for approval
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial statements
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Advise management on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Comply with financial policies, accounting standards and regulations of the Republic of Uganda
Support the audit process
Any other duties assigned by line manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Fully certified CPA or ACCA professional qualification
Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and periodicals
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
1 year work experience or more
Hands-on experience with accounting softwares like Odoo, tally or quickbooks
Strong attention to detail
Fluent in English and Luo
Candidate must be based in Lira town, Northern Uganda
