Senior Manager – Digital Transformation & Operations MTN Uganda Limited

The Senior Manager – Digital Transformation & Operations will act as a chief of staff/strategic advisor and operations lead to the Head of division and help in the execution of the complex and wide-ranging duties of running a modern sales organization.

Measure performance and provide insights into relevant, accurate and usable strategic knowledge through research activities, collection and analysis/interpretation of data concerning customers and their usage behavior, channels, competition, and the macro-environment.

Main Job Functions:
• Sales strategy, ad operations, pricing and planning, financial and business planning including revenue and cost forecasting, product, technology, marketing, legal, finance, talent, creative, sales performance, branding/packaging, branded entertainment, competitive analysis, recruiting, hiring, onboarding programs, performance review programs, seller education and evaluations, etc.
• Building process, operational structure, strategic recommendations and represent the GM in key stakeholder meetings both internally and externally.

In conjunction with Leadership team, establish highly strategic, thoughtful, and deliberate business plans within the existing framework of our transactional and metrics-oriented business model.

Driving sales revenue through building a strong channel Initiatives and networks

Developing Go-to-Market plans for each of the channel partners and agent, ensuring the efficient execution of those plans.
• Model out staffing needs based on incoming revenue and new business opportunities and work with the team to get headcount approvals, job descriptions and proper recruiting, hiring, training so we don’t fall behind in execution
• Be a strategic Partner to other Strategic revenue Streams such as Consumer, Marketing, MFS, Digital, EBU, Broadband and Network for their long-term and short-term goals, how can you bring them to the next level through the new operation model

Be a conduit to key stakeholders and other department such as legal, finance, marketing, talent, product, technology and more
• Create and oversee sales training/on-boarding program for new retailers, and integrated Revenue Stream agents
• Ensure that team morale is high and that communication for both internal teams and external teams is highly effective
• Develop and execute new business sales roadshows for CEO, GM Sales, and Regional commercial Heads.
• Create and maintain sales forecasting using Salesforce and make sure our sales organization is on track to surpass business goals.
• Oversee research and market data analysis for the division.
• Manage Travel and Expenses Budget for Sales Organization and other key marketing costs.
• Identify new channels that serve the market and work with the team to build them out. From topics ranging from technology, services or advertising.

Recommendations for the Dealer monthly incentive programs and ensure we stay within budget whilst delivering business targets.
• Analyze financial performance, S&D initiatives/proposals and market data and recommend to dealers for product investment and profitability.
• Responsible for the allocation and usage of S&D OPEX & CAPEX budget
• Monitors and analyzes Telecoms trends, opportunities for future growth and channels distribution
• Establishes Channel profitability and Cost management trends for better retail management drivers
• Provides supports for COS analysis and modeling for all Dealer incentives , discounts and Bonus matrices to aid decision making
• Develop the MTN Retail experience in MTN channel outlets
• Manage the process of identifying and implementing new strategic alliances and business growth opportunities
• Manage the process of investigating and assessing the fit to MTN of potential new business investment opportunities, partnerships and joint ventures
• Drive business development and contribute to deal negotiations process – together with Finance and external partner for growth and relevant internal units.
• Identify, Develop, and enhance strategic alliances and external growth opportunities.

Education:
• A Business degree in Business Administration, IT and any other Business-Related course.
• MBA/Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage.
• Proficient with Big data analytics, MS Office application especially Excel and Power Point

Experience:
• Manager track record of 7 years or more; with at least 4 years in Telecommunication industry.
• At least 4-5 years’ experience in Retail/Channel Development, Business analysis, and product evaluation
• Prior experience in marketing analytics for telecommunications or FMCG is desirable.
