CFAO Motors Uganda are also the official distributors of brand-new Suzuki vehicles, Yamaha motorcycles, Hino Trucks, and Toyota forklifts. The company also proposes a range of short and long-term lease and car rental solutions for businesses through the LOXEA brand and its partner Avis Fleet. It also provides a raft of other services to expand the offering, including fleet management, geolocation, telematics and more.

 

Job Summary: The Cashier M/F will support business sales by ensuring daily cash and cheque collections from customers and banking it for safe custody.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive payments by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers, mobile money or automatic credits from customers (cash & cheque), verify and receipt into SAP (company Enterprise Resource Planning system)
  • Issue receipts and process refunds to customers.
  • Daily count of cash drawers at the day’s start to take stock of correct amounts and sufficiency of change.
  • Reconcile all collections for the day and prepare banking of the same.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions by filing support copies of daily collections, receipts and ensure easy accessibility for future reference.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of petty cash vouchers to facilitate timely reimbursement.
  • Create bid securities and advance payment guarantees for the sales teams.
  • Verify and confirm payment receipts from the bank, for the customers.
  • Issue gate passes for customer vehicles.
  • Timely and accurate reporting as required by the business.
  • Assisting customers with inquiries, resolving issues related to payments and providing any related information.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures related to financial transactions and data protection.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Educational and experiential requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related business discipline
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role (direct customer interfacing) in a busy environment.

Key competencies and skills

  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Good knowledge of MS Office packages especially Excel
  • Excellent customer care skills with ability to listen and build rapport with customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
