Job summary
Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of INSPIRE, including tracking program expenses, overseeing the timely completion of monthly financial reports, quarterly accrual projections, whilst ensuring proper internal controls and donor compliance. The role manages the financial and administrative aspects of all sub-agreements.
Job Functions:
1. Oversee Financial Management
• Management of the day-to-day financial reporting to facilitate on-time reporting to the Donor & HQ
• Advise the INSPIRE Management Team on Tax Related Matters
Ensure timely, accurate and high-quality financial reporting on all INSPIRE activities
• Ensure that donor funds are effectively managed in pursuit of agreed objectives.
Ensure Budget holders are supported and provided with timely information that enables them in monitoring and controlling their budgets.
• Generate and submit monthly BMTs to the team and update the forecasts accordingly.
• Ensure that effective systems and controls are in place for financial management and reporting.
2. Donor Budgeting, forecasting and Grant Management
• Coordinate the preparation of financial aspects of Donor Reports
• Alert the FC and Coordinators to any upcoming deadlines
Assist FC in Quarterly, Semi-annual and annual budget forecasting
• Provide Technical Support on Donor budgets, Donor reporting, Guidelines & Regulations
• Ensure periodic partner management accounts are reviewed and partner spend is in line with agreed activities and in adherence with GOAL and donor requirements.
• Manage payment process to partners.
• Ensure timely financial checks are performed on partners and action points raised are followed up and addressed.
3. Lead Annual Statutory Audit and Specific Project Audits
• Provide assistance in the completion of the Annual Statutory Audit and Financial Statements
• Facilitate timely completion of INSPIRE Specific Project Audits
4. People Management
• Line manages the finance Officer
• Conduct Grow with GOAL snapshots in line with the performance management process.
• Identify personnel development plans for team members and ensure follow through
Essential Criteria:
• Qualified accountant with completion of any of the following; ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent
• Minimum of Five (5) year’s working experience with an international NGO with at least 2 years at managerial level
• Budget and report writing experience
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with emphasis on planning, working to tight deadlines, providing training, facilitating capacity building and supervising team activities
Desirable criteria:
• Working knowledge of Sage
• Ability and willingness to produce financial information in a format that non-technical staff can understand
• Good team player, flexible, tolerant, committed, Self-motivated, organized and innovative and capable of working within a multinational and multicultural team
