PURPOSE:
We are seeking a creative, data-driven and organized individual to join our Stores team to oversee daily store operations, inventory management, coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability, maintain a clean storage environment, train staff, and implement performance optimization strategies that enhance smooth workflow.
KEY JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the receipt of incoming goods and compare them against purchase orders or delivery notes to match the quality and quantity specified in the orders and ensure accuracy
• Inspect goods for quality and quantity upon receipt to ensure they meet the required standards
• Maintain accurate inventory records by coordinating daily cycle count and spot checks, monthly stock take, annual stock take, and timely reconciliation of the Oracle inventory ledger
• Implement effective storage practices for stocks to minimize damage and reduce the likelihood of goods being returned
• Coordinate the pick-up and dispatch of finished goods according to specified orders and requirements.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to implement and enforce the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method for loading finished goods to ensure older stock is used first, minimizing spoilage or obsolescence stock
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Provide regular updates to management regarding stock status, including quantities on hand, reorder points, and the aging of inventory
• Provide leadership to the store clerks and motivate team members to achieve departmental goals and maintain high standards of performance.
QUALIFICATION AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, procurement and logistics or warehouse management, business administration with option (accounting and finance) or similar related accounting course with CPA or ACCA qualified or equivalent knowledge is an additional advantage.
• Minimum Experience: At least four (4) years’ proven experience as a store’s supervisor or similar role in a warehouse or distribution especially in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of inventory management and control practices, ERP/Oracle skills, excellent analytics, customer management Must be team oriented and results focused.
