Manager, Infrastructure Services Dfcu Bank

Reporting to the Senior Manager- Infrastructure and Data Services, the role holder will be responsible for leading the team that provides support to all Bank Enterprise infrastructure, spanning end-user computing, data centre operations, networks, on-prem and cloud servers, amongst others.
They are responsible for maintaining an efficient, highly available, robust IT production environment and providing expert technical advisory to the bank as it pursues its strategic goals.
LOCATION: Kampala

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Infrastructure Services Team leadership, mentorship, training, and personnel management.
• Secure the Bank’s infrastructure, including implementing security, risk, and compliance controls on the bank’s IT Infrastructure.
• Providing technical advisory and strategic oversight during the development, deployment, and maintenance of the bank’s technology Infrastructure.
• Capacity Planning and management, including the cost-efficient and optimal utilization of all bank infrastructure.
• Support the daily IT operational needs of the bank staff and customers, whilst maintaining availability and uptime of the infrastructure.
• Execute the bank’s IT strategy using industry best practices, in areas such as cloud adoption, asset management, and change management amongst others.
• Implement, improve, monitor, and continuously test the bank’s business continuity processes and controls.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• A Bachelor’s Degree, minimum, in computer science, IT, Engineering or related field from a reputable university or college.
• A combination of professional-level certifications in one or more of the following is a requirement: Unix, Red Hat, Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, DNS, Virtual Server technologies, AWS/Azure Cloud technologies, CISM/CISA, ITIL, VMware.
• Minimum 6 years technical experience supporting Enterprise Infrastructure systems in a highly regulated, medium to large organization.
• Experience with the technical operations of mixed vendor Data centre environments across Electrical, Network, Storage and Computing infrastructure, including collocated Data centres.
• Experience with Cloud and Virtual infrastructures e.g. VMWARE, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365 Administration.
• Broad knowledge of ICT infrastructure risk, compliance, management, and control Techniques.
• A deep understanding of various operating systems, data communication technologies, networking, Databases, Hardware (PC/Server), system applications and their integrations.
• Working experience in a WAN /LAN environment, Internet technologies, IP technologies, Network devices and equipment (e.g. Routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls) with extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and Active directory protocols & services.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server or network problems, install, and operate infrastructure monitoring tools and maintain detailed documentation.
• Ability to generate, read, and interpret Infrastructure designs.
• Project Implementation, Problem Solving, Strategic Planning, Multi-tasking, Quality Focus, Coordination, Technical Understanding, Quick Study and Technical Zeal.
• Ability to understand and/or operate multiple infrastructure technologies e.g. CISCO, Linux, UNIX, Oracle, VMWARE, Juniper etc.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence; speak clearly to third parties and employees.
• Able and willing to solve complex analytical challenges, independently analyze information; and make recommendations based on analysis.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt and work cooperatively and effectively in different situations and with teams to carry out assigned tasks whilst maintaining a positive attitude under stressful conditions.
