Compassion International is an evangelical Christ Centered, Church based and Child-focused Development NGO that for over sixty years has existed as an advocate for children, to release them from poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian.

 

Diocese of Madi – West Nile is recruiting competent candidates, preferably Anglicans and born-again with a clear testimony, to fill the positions in its Child Development Centre at Emmanuel Church of Uganda, Tabi, Ginyako Parish, Koboko Archdeaconry, Koboko District.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an advocate for children and their caregivers who live in poverty and are not able to speak for themselves.
  • Provide a positive and safe environment where children can learn and develop to their fullest potential.
  • Work to prevent and reduce the risks of the incidence of abuse through enforcing child protection policies, strategies, and procedures.
  • Mobilize resources that can provide sound learning opportunities for children in all areas of child development.
  • Serve as the team leader of the project staff.
  • Oversee the overall management of the project to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of implementations.
  • Lead the preparation of activity plans, implementation, and budgeting.
  • Offer technical support to staff.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Age between 23-40 years.
  • Mature and practicing Christian with good Bible knowledge.
  • Good interpersonal and relational skills.
  • At least two years of experience in community-related work, especially dealing with children.
  • A minimum of a degree in Social Works and Social Administration, Education, Nursing, Development Studies, Community Psychology, Child Ministries, or other related fields for Project Directors, and a minimum of a Diploma for Child Development Officers.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Speaking and understanding the Madi language shall be an added advantage.
