Founded in 2019, Magnum Security set out itself to be a leading contract security firm in the property, corporate, industrial, commercial, and construction industries. The company is a registered gun dealership and guarding entity and also a member of the Uganda private security Association (TUPSA). Magnum security has the capacity to take on bulk operations to cater the needs of different organizations. Our sole Aim of the company is to be a service provider of high quality, affordable contract security solutions

 

Job Summary:   Accountable to the Board of Directors, the General Manager (GM) will provide leadership, strategic direction, and tactical oversight to all of Magnum Security’s functions. The job holder will ensure close coordination between the teams to align services with customer requirements and other business imperatives; he or she will lead the team to deliver innovatively. The GM is also responsible for quality assurance as well as compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) legislation; he or she will ensure that international best practice in Security management is implemented throughout the organisation so that a compelling brand reputation is established and maintained.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term company goals.
  • Supervise all staff and ensure they deliver excellent service and positive business results.
  • Business development and revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities in Manned Security operations through an integrated security solutions approach.
  • Reporting to the Directors, providing strategic advice and ensuring that the Directors are properly informed to facilitate appropriate judgment and decision-making.
  • Developing and implementing business plans to improve overall efficiency in the business. Manage the effective implementation of these plans, reviewing achievements against the identified standards and benchmarks and adapting objectives and plans accordingly.
  • Creates, communicates, and implements the organization’s vision, mission and overall direction, leading the development and implementation of the overall organization strategy.
  • Oversee staff weekly activity plans and weekly meetings while ensuring strict follow-up on individual deliverables.
  • Ensuring that processes and systems in place are being properly implemented by ensuring strict adherence to internal control systems.
  • Maintain positive relations with business partners, shareholders, and authorities.
  • Act as a liaison between different groups and be an effective link between the board and the employees, consultants, Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public
  • Strengthen service delivery to new business and ensure continuous monitoring to ensure service delivery is not compromised to all clients.
  • Constantly encourage innovation to ensure the company continues to build growth and deliver value to all stakeholders.
  • Empower and support teams to visualize develop new ways and deliver business value and to clients.
  • Lead senior management in building brand recognition, reputation and industry position through continuous marketing promotions.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate teams to understand and ‘live’ company values.
  • Assess the company’s risk environment and ensure that these risks are being monitored and mitigated.
  • Build and manage a credible senior management team that:
  • Drive and manage continuous high performance.
  • Challenge and interrogate business strategy to deliver outstanding client solutions.
  • Ensure people achieve their career goals.
  • Influence, collaborate and manage across the company matrix to optimize growth.
  • Drive efficient day-to-day business operations to maximize margin.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in business, marketing, law, management or a related field with five years of experience in a security setting.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Security professional with proven management experience within the security industry, public sector or armed services.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
  • Basic IT skills with a working knowledge of MS Office packages and knowledge of electronic security systems.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills, with a ‘hands-on’, problem-solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
  • Excellent in developing and implementing strategic and business plans.
