Mission

As a Graduate Trainee, you will work under the supervision of the Procurement Manager and Unit Manager. Your role will involve supporting various procurement processes and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Process: Supervise and implement the entire procurement process and procedures.
  • Internal Requests: Receive and process internal procurement requests.
  • Competitive Bidding: Implement competitive bidding processes.
  • LPO Management: Finalize Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and ensure their timely execution by suppliers.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor local commodity markets and update prices regularly.
  • Purchasing Duties: Perform regular purchasing duties and administrative tasks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
  • Order Management: Purchase and issue orders according to specifications.
  • Delivery Coordination: Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items between suppliers, both local and overseas.
  • Reporting: Prepare and summarize reports, including sales reports and book values.
  • Store Visits: Schedule store visits and conduct competitor surveys.
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with user departments and suppliers on project-related purchasing tasks.
  • Order Follow-Up: Assist in managing and following up on overseas orders.
  • Inventory Management: Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate the best purchasing packages in terms of quality, price, terms, delivery, and service.
  • Database Management: Create, maintain, and update a database of existing and alternative suppliers.
  • Stock Coordination: Work with the Stores Department to ensure optimal inventory levels and avoid over- or under-stocking.

Profile

  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of computerized inventory management systems.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Able to work independently and as an excellent team player.
  • Communication: Good communicator with a good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Access; good knowledge of database programs is essential.
  • Results-Oriented: Customer-oriented and results-driven.
  • Personal Qualities: Honest, reliable, mature, and professional with a commitment to the company.
