Job Description: Airtel Uganda Limited is seeking a dedicated Treasury Manager to oversee tax and treasury functions, ensuring effective cash planning, risk management, and implementation of controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and improve the cash cycle, recommending cost-saving measures and enhancing efficiency.
- Approve and oversee petty cash transactions and cash counts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage daily reconciliations of cash, cheque, and online deposits, and verify actual receipts before banking.
- Ensure accuracy and timely circulation of the daily liquidity report (DLR).
- Ensure tax compliance within the operating company and manage Airtel Money account reconciliations.
- Manage bank account signatories and ensure their up-to-date status.
- Implement and maintain online banking systems with adequate controls and periodic reviews.
- Optimize deposit and current accounts for effective funds management.
- Oversee cash flow collection processes from retail shops and manage foreign exchange transactions and exposures.
- Negotiate and manage liquidity financing for dealers, staff, and the company as required.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA) will be an added advantage.
- Postgraduate qualification in a related field is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy accounting/tax office, with at least 3 years in a tax authority or tax consulting environment.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and excellent understanding of local tax laws.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines consistently.
