Job Description: Tunga Nutrition Uganda Ltd (TNUL) is seeking a dynamic Quality Assurance & Quality Control Manager to lead our Quality team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring all internal quality assurance plans and programs necessary for the Ugandan market. You will ensure compliance with HACCP and Feed/Food defense standards for manufactured products and feed ingredients, and oversee the quality of incoming raw materials and finished products before they reach the market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, monitor, maintain, and improve quality policies and control programs in coordination with production and supply chain managers.
- Drive continuous improvement processes and conduct risk-based assessments to minimize process and product deficiencies.
- Liaise with relevant departments to collect and update data for quality systems.
- Oversee the maintenance of business essential certifications and ensure compliance with new requirements.
- Manage customer relationships related to quality control, establish product specifications, and ensure compliance with both internal and customer expectations.
- Promote QA/QC across departments, coordinate training, and participate in crisis management and root cause analyses.
- Handle product complaints and conduct audits (internal and external) to maintain quality certifications.
Skills & Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry or related field. A Master’s degree/MBA would be an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge/experience in quality assurance and control within the feed or FMCG industry.
- Familiarity with quality standards/guidelines such as ISO, GMP+, VICH GL9 (GCP).
- Experience leading organizations through system implementation, handling customer complaints, non-conformance, and managing audits.
- Good oral and written communication skills in Luganda and English.
