Jolems Investment Limited located in Kampala Uganda is a company limited by shares that was established to acquire, manage office, trading stations, factories, shops and depots among which include production of oral and food products.

 

Job Summary:   The Accountant at Jolems Investment Limited will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company. This position involves both receivables and payables, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial principles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable: Manage all incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Accounts Payable: Oversee all outgoing payments, including supplier invoices and employee expenses. Ensure all payments are made on time and recorded accurately.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actuals against budget and investigate variances.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of materials for external auditors. Ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.

 

Work Targets:

  • Maintain an accounts receivable collection period of less than 30 days.
  • Ensure all supplier invoices are paid within agreed payment terms.
  • Achieve a monthly financial reporting accuracy of 99%.
  • Assist in reducing budget variances by 10%.
  • Ensure zero non-compliance issues in audits.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • ACCA or CPA (if applicable)
  • Experience with ERPNext
  • Experience with auditing, taxes, NSSF, etc
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
