Job Summary: The Accountant at Jolems Investment Limited will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company. This position involves both receivables and payables, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial principles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable: Manage all incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and maintain a healthy cash flow.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee all outgoing payments, including supplier invoices and employee expenses. Ensure all payments are made on time and recorded accurately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actuals against budget and investigate variances.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of materials for external auditors. Ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.
Work Targets:
- Maintain an accounts receivable collection period of less than 30 days.
- Ensure all supplier invoices are paid within agreed payment terms.
- Achieve a monthly financial reporting accuracy of 99%.
- Assist in reducing budget variances by 10%.
- Ensure zero non-compliance issues in audits.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- ACCA or CPA (if applicable)
- Experience with ERPNext
- Experience with auditing, taxes, NSSF, etc
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
