Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the job holder will handle operational activities, encompassing financial and management accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. They will ensure customer/stakeholder needs are met and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), legal and statutory obligations. The incumbent will also exert strong oversight over the accounting processes to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of accounting data and information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Ensure all AP/AR requests or queries are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties
- Review and analyze financial data and support the Accounting Manager in creating reports on financial status based on the analysis results
- Timely and accurate reconciliation of monthly activity, working closely with the Accounting Manager
- Develop recommendations to optimize the company’s accounting systems and procedures and detect inaccuracies
- Support and consult the company’s Accounting Manager on accounting control procedures
- Supervise Accounts Assistants
- Participate in the department’s forecasting and goal-setting activities and month-end and year-end close processes
- Organize financial statements and budget preparation accurately and timely
- Support tax audits (both internal and external) and tax returns
- Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, B Com, BBA with a bias in accounting
- Additional specific accountancy qualifications from reputed organizations will be an advantage
- 4 years or more of related experience in accounting and finance roles
- Profound experience with typical accounting procedures
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software packages such as Tally and QuickBooks
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with accuracy and attention to detail
