Job Description:
Nexgen is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounts Assistant to provide functional support to the Head of Finance. The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation of various accounting entries, reports, and projects.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Process transactions and manage company floats for efficient facilitation of mechanical maintenance contracts requests and other administrative payouts. Calculate and check to ensure payments, amounts, and records are correct.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance to ensure the completeness of the payment’s dashboard and cashflow forecast.
- Work with accountants to ensure daily updates and completeness of the accounts receivable ageing analysis.
- Receive and review day-to-day invoices, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, budget, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare statutory deductions and file the same, including VAT and withholding tax returns.
- Record financial transactions in accounting software, including invoices, expenses, and payments.
- Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, track them to the source, and correct them.
- Verify payments and deposits made through company accounts.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Process payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods.
- Work closely with accountants to ensure accuracy of reporting and pinpoint any discrepancies.
- Aid with financial reporting, including the preparation of financial reports for profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with month-end, year-end closing activities, and audit preparations.
- Perform a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pre-entry Requested Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management; CPA qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in the accounts department in a busy environment.
Work Hours: 8 hours per day
Experience in Months: 24 months
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
