About Organisation:
Uganda National Institute of Teacher Education was commissioned with the focus on practice and hand-on experiences as basis of teaching and learning. Vocationalisation spans through all teacher education programme courses.
Job Summary: The Communications Officer will implement communication, information dissemination and public relations plans and programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizing and implementing public relations programs which promote the image of the Institute;
- Making arrangements for press conferences, articles, press releases, radio and T.V. programs;
- Participating in publicity cover for Institute ceremonies, occasions and events including graduation, sports and games events and public lectures and debates;
- Conducting surveys on public opinion about the programs and products of the Institute;
- Drafting content for dissemination to the public for consideration by the Supervisor;
- Maintaining linkages with other institutions in respect to communications and branding; and
- Designing material or programs that promote a positive image of the Institute to the public through various platforms.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Communication Studies or Public Relations from a recognized University or Institution.
- Work Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in public relations and marketing duties in a reputable institution.
