Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Network and Security Solutions Engineer based in Kampala. The Network Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day Enterprise Network Solutions Design, Deployment, Administration, Troubleshooting, Cybersecurity Solutions Design, Deployment, Troubleshooting and Administration,..

Here’s a closer look at what you’ll be doing:
• Design and implement functional enterprise network infrastructure and systems using correct network diagrams and documentation
• Analyze and confirm the information demands and functional requirements in collaboration with internal teams and customers

Adopt network security measures after organizing, planning, and safeguarding data, software, and hardware at customers’ sites.
• Monitor network performance to identify necessary adjustments and improvements
• Cooperate with technology suppliers to offer business-focused solutions
• Provide technical leadership to teams working on deployment and support
• Ensure the stability of the working environment before, during, and after system updates

Establish and maintain strong cross-functional working connections with corporate and local teams
• Resolve issues escalated by lower support tiers and provide support for those tiers as needed
• Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network security and efficiency

Utilize online resources and documentation to gain knowledge about new or unfamiliar technology
• Design and Implement complex cybersecurity solutions like SIEM, EDR, NDR, MDR, SOAR, NAC, DLP, DDoS etc
• Must have sized and deployed Firewall appliances like Sophos, FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower etc

• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role with Bachelors Degree in any ICT Professional
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.

• Must have the following certifications CCNA, CCNP ENTERPRISE and NSE4/ Fortinet Certified Professional Network Security or Security Operations
