Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at GLF. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems and infrastructure across our farm facilities, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of GLF’s infrastructure while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and oversee electrical systems and infrastructure at GLF, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and renewable energy systems.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and calculations to support electrical design decisions, including load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short-circuit calculations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient technologies into electrical systems and infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure electrical components and equipment, evaluating technical specifications, cost estimates, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage electrical construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely completion and within budget constraints.
  • Conduct performance testing and validation of electrical systems and equipment, analyzing data and identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems and equipment, resolving issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in electrical design and operations.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical engineering, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the agricultural, manufacturing, or facilities management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and techniques, with expertise in power distribution, lighting design, control systems, and renewable energy systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools for design, simulation, and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship in electrical design and operations.
  • Attention to detail and quality, with a focus on delivering designs that meet performance requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work outside regular business hours as needed to support project deadlines and farm operations.
