About the Company: Trans Youth Initiative – Uganda (TYI) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and health rights within communities. We work closely with youths, particularly those within the Key Population fraternity, to empower them to become advocates for social change and community development.
Description: Peer Educators play a crucial role in our outreach and community engagement efforts. They work directly with community members to raise awareness, provide education, and foster understanding around issues of gender equality and health rights.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, health education, or closely related fields.
- Lived experience within the community and a deep understanding of the rights and challenges of the Key Population community.
- A high school certificate or a relevant certificate is required. Additional education, certifications, or training in community development, public health, social work, or related disciplines is highly valued.
- Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Fluency in local languages spoken in Central and Western Uganda is crucial.
- Ability to work well within a team setting and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
