General Function:
The Finance Graduate Trainee will support the Finance Department in various functions, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in financial management and operations within the university setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Student Contact: Contact students with outstanding dues and inform them of their pending balances.
- Data Entry: Support the department with data entry.
- Petty Cash Transactions: Process petty cash transactions as required.
- Payment Vouchers: Assist in preparing payment vouchers.
- Correspondence Handling: Handle correspondences between finance and other departments.
- Records Management: Ensure proper records management by filing all Finance documents.
- Document Scanning: Scan documents and upload as required.
- Financial Reports: Assist in preparing financial reports and statements.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Required Qualifications / Person Specifications:
- Education: Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s in Finance and Accounting or a related discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills.
