About US:
Healthy Entrepreneurs (HE) is a social enterprise based in Uganda (and several other countries). HE aims to improve the access to basic health care for people living in rural and remote communities (84% of the population). HE recruits and trains VHTs or Community Health Workers who have an entrepreneurial spirit and skills. They pay a commitment fee and are provided with the tools and products to become Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs), serving their communities by selling reliable and affordable health products and services, educating communities and providing access to a doctor-at-distance/telehealth desk. The money they make, they can reinvest by buying new products to sell and repaying their loan. HE is implementing its franchise model via more than 13,000 Community Health Entrepreneurs (our customers) in more than 60 districts of Uganda today. We are growing towards a network of 20.000 CHEs, serving 95% of rural Uganda by the end of 2024.

Our sales department is the biggest department in the office. After the CHEs have been recruited and trained they are served by their ‘commercial coaches’ in the sales department. These sales officers know all their CHEs. They call them and coach them in growing their micro-enterprise, identifying their market, planning their sales and deciding what to order. They visit regularly to give more training on new products or necessary skills.
Our sales department is divided into area teams, servicing specific regions in Uganda, for instance, Central, South-West, Teso etc. We are looking for sales officers for several areas. Enthousiastic and social sales people speaking many Ugandan languages, such as Runyoro, Runyankore Lusamia, Lusoga and Lugbara, Kakwa, Alur, Madi etc.
Candidates with experience will be considered for sales officer contract of 6 months, with the intention of renewing. Everyone is offered a learning journey through the HE Academy, expanding their professional skills and growing in terms of personal leadership. Our HE Academy contains modules on professional conduct, effective communication, high performing teams, planning & organization skills and personal leadership, to name a few.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Growing our Community Health Entrepreneurs into successful micro-entrepreneurs
- Boosting sales (according to targets, in terms of # orders, revenue, retention and loan repayment)
- Build relationships based on trust with CHEs (by way of phone) and coach them effectively
- Empower our CHEs, facilitate constant growth, through ordering and loan repayment
- Report to Area Manager
- Participate in area team meetings
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales Related fields, Social Work, Education or training or alternatively a Diploma in Pharmacy / Nursing/Clinical medicine
- Fluency in one or more Ugandan languages
- Fluency in English both written and verbal
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Experience in a sales environment
