About Organisation:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CoRSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, nongovernmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability.
Job Summary: The Program Officer shall ensure proper and timely implementation of all project activities In line with the project objectives, activities, and work-plans. The job holder will continuously document progress of activities. Including preparing case studies, recording success stories, and taking photos. The job holder will also prepare and submit regular high-quality reports on project implementation in accordance with the timelines set by the donor. He/she shall work closely with PMO team In activities that contribute to increased brand awareness through publicity, good public image, develop. and maintain brand visibility, consistency. and integrity. The position Holder shall handle other program related roles as shall be assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compile and develop activity and financial reports on the projects.
- Maintain accurate records of activity implementation: including the individuals served through funding from the respective
- Collect and store electronic patient profiles.
- including photos, biodata, and personal stories of patients served through CBM funding.
- Develop and catalogue success stories and case studies relating to CBM funding.
- Take and process electronic photos/pictures of patients (photo classification especially children) scheduled for surgery for donor specific (CBM) reports and fundraising.
- Monitor grant budget performance and communicate progress to immediate
- supervisor: ensuring that there is no over expenditure.
- Prepare and submit high quality monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc programmatic reports as required by the donor and CoRSU Management.
- Compiling stories and reports as requested.
- Compile articles, interviews, and features about CoRSU.
- Update the archive program photographs for reports, publications, etc.
- Lead the compilation of the Annual Report and Newsletters.
- Contributes to updating and disseminating regularly the CBM Program Portfolio.
- Review of the communication and the guidelines in coordination with the PA/PR.
- Provide human interesting stories for CBM publication and fundraising.
- Supporting the Programs Management team in preparation of new grant applications.
- Compiling and sending out information packs to potential donors and supporters as requested.
- Coordinate other projects as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Work, Education, Communication, or related humanities field.
- Additional training in Project Planning and Management.
- At least 3 years’ experience in project planning and management or in proposal wiling for funding with a proven record of writing successful grants.
- At least 2 years’ experience in customer care. marketing. and communication
- Experience in documentation, including report writing, photography, and other relevant skills.
