Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Reports to: Financial Accountant
About Organisation:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CoRSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, nongovernmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability.
Job Summary: The Assistant Accountant will work within the finance team supporting accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and processes, and internal/external reporting requirements. To ensure provision of a high-quality financial accounting service that supports effective and efficient management of the hospital’s financial resources, within statutory and regulatory guidelines.
Key Results:
- General Ledger well managed with accurate ledgers
- Cash Receipts posted and daily cash collection report reconciled.
- Errors due to wrong postings identified and corrected.
- Accurate accounting records maintained for future references.
- Audit work properly facilitated
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/ commerce (Accounting option)
- Professional qualification (Level 2 ACCA/CPA)
- Knowledge of the Standards for the Accounting Professional Practice
- At least three years of related experience in Revenue management in a busy setting.
- Member of the professional accounting body CPAU or ACCA
