Project Assistants – GFA(verification) x10 World Vision Uganda

To support General food assistance activities of verification to ensure the right persons receive the right assistance in a timely manner to aid evident reporting, to ensure quality programming and accountability within the framework of World Vision and donor standards and guidelines at settlement levels.

• Mobilize manageable numbers of beneficiaries for CBT distribution, quarterly verification and Monthly General Food and Cash Distribution.
• Admit and verify beneficiaries during food distribution.

Verify beneficiaries during quarterly CBT verification.
• Participate in data entry in World Vision and WFP corporate systems (CTS, partner connect etc)
• Participate in mainstreaming Accountability to the Affected Persons (AAP) across all WFP and WV activities
• Mobilization plans are timely developed and disseminated.
• All beneficiaries turning up for distributions are verified using biometrics
• All beneficiaries on cash mobilized and verified quarterly.

Compile and share quarterly verification reports for CBT beneficiaries.
Support in the monitoring of agent cash out points.
Mobilise retailers for WFP targeting and monitoring assessment (MFI and RPME)
• All CBT verification reports consolidated and shared.
• Agent points are supported through monitoring visits.
• Retailers mobilized for key engagement in the project.

Organise the identified retailers into groups, support groups to establish leadership and governance.
Compile and share distribution and quarterly CBT verification schedules.
Support project trainings for beneficiaries (retailers)
• All retailers are organized in groups with leadership committees.
• All quarterly verification schedules are shared on time with the CBT beneficiaries and other key stake holders

Follow up on retailer performance and support in Retailer Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (RPME)
Assist retailer groups to create and manage VSLAs and SACCOs to enable sustainable access to credit.
Support in linking VSLAs and SACCOs to formal financial service providers (FSPs) for sustainable credit options and digitalization.
• All retailers are supported through monitoring activities.
• VSLA and SACCOs created and well managed.
• VSLA and SACCOs linked to the financial service providers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:
• A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer science, Agriculture, Nutrition, Food science, social sciences, or any other related discipline from a reputable institution.
• At least 2 years of Demonstrated experience in participatory, community-driven facilitation skills and experience in data management with a reputable organization.
• Demonstrated ability to design/formulate monitoring tools

• At least 1 years’ Experience of working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with food distribution and rights-based programs

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
• Training in IT is an added advantage
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
• Ability to follow standard business support processes and procedures.
• Ability to create, manage and protect beneficiary data bases.
• Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g. Microsoft word and spread sheet.
• Ability to provide information using courtesy and tact.
• Good analytical skills, report writing skills and ability to work under minimum supervision, attention to detail and able to multi-task.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Good community engagement skills
• Good presentation skills, Negotiation skills
• Good training skills, hardworking, calm, mature, logical, culturally sensitive, result oriented and interest in humanitarian development
• Fluency in written and oral English is a requirement, and ability to speak and understand Kiswahili, Kinyabwisha and Runyakitara, Madi, Lugbarati, Arabic, Kakwa, and Bari will be an added advantage.
• License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:
• If applicable, include language requirement(s) as a minimum qualification for this position.

• Humanitarian Protection and Accountability Partnership training
• Do No Harm in AID management training
• First Aid training, World Vision Uganda

Travel: 75% in the field and 25 % in the office.
