Job Summary: DHL Global Forwarding Uganda has an opening for an Import/Export Operations Specialist where you will execute procedures in the administration of the Air freight Import/Export process from end to end as well as having full ownership and visibility of the process. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will establish and maintain relationships with existing customers.
- You will handle customer complaints and enquiries.
- You will update the clients in a timely manner as agreed upon during the onboarding.
- You will provide high levels of customer service with a sense of urgency.
- You will support Head of Airfreight with the implementation of new/change of systems update/upgrades in CW1.
- You will arrange for the movement of shipment from Pick up at customer to Delivery at the customers premises or at the Airline for Export shipments,
- You will book with carrier/Update CW1 remarks with booking info.
- You will support the GSC with the documentation required to open files and ensure that the file is opened correctly.
- You will support by sharing the documents with the CDZ team to enable them to declare the files and process the shipment for customs clearance by preparing a customs entry.
- You will support and Complete export documents.
- You will quality check documentation before lodging to airline.
- You will ensure that you process the MAWB/HAWB in accordance with the stipulated procedures.
- You will monitor and follow up until shipment is delivered.
- You will send uplift confirmations/pre alerts to the customers.
- You will bill and close the shipment in CWI Post flight/Customer messaging.
- You will be uploading of shipping documents into the DHL EDoc system.
- You will update all your milestones and ensure they are done as per the stipulated target.
- You will ensure all your sick files are resolved and flies CLSD.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Must have a matric
- CAT 6 DG certificate will be advantageous
- Preferred Cargo wise experience
- 2-3 years related experience
