Purpose of the Role:
The position holder takes the lead in planning and implementing Business Development Skill Training for refugee retailers, in close collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP). S/he offers technical support for curriculum content and the development of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems. Additionally, the position holder conducts training sessions for retailer groups in refugee settlements.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical advice and support for project planning (20%)
• Take lead in developing content and methodologies for the short business skill course tailormade for retailers in refugee settlements.
Contribute to the design of materials and teaching aids.
• Prepare workplans and training schedules.
• Contribute to and assist in the design of M & E framework, tools and plan.
Project implementation and management (20%)
• Provide technical support and advice to Business Development Officers on planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Mentor and develop project staff and peer retailer trainers to gain technical skills on training planning, teaching and business skill course content.
Train refugee retailer groups on topics in the Business Development Skill training curriculum.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (25%)
• In co-operation with M&E Officer, ensure that M & E mechanisms are in place to measure and improve the quality of the project, sharing best practises and transfer of technical knowledge.
• Provide support to team in planning, monitoring, analysis of progress and identify corrective actions.
• Support M & E to arrange surveys and evaluations, and lead in data interpretation.
• Compile lessons learned to improve the content and delivery of such trainings for future scale-up.
• Compile and write timely quality reports.
Qualification:
• University degree in business skills / entrepreneurship / livelihood.
• At least 4 years’ relevant middle management level experience on business skill / livelihood projects.
• Knowledge and experience on project management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven experience in training business and livelihood related topics.
• Training material design and content development knowledge.
• Willingness to and ability to solve difficult situations.
• Able to work within refugee settlement.
