About Organisation:
Outbox Hub is an Incubation, collaboration and co-creation space for techies in Uganda. The Hi-innovator is an initiative of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) supported by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by Outbox.
The initiative seeks to support Ugandan Entrepreneurs by extending catalytic seed funding, entrepreneurial learning and business development support so that they can become more competitive, high-impact businesses.
Job Summary: The Senior Learning and Community Associate is responsible for developing entrepreneurship content for our learners in the online business academy and accelerator. The primary objective is to ensure that learning content is packaged well, meets the needs of our learners, and is also relevant based on market opportunities. You are expected to understand SME needs based on outcomes of due diligence, refine or work with other partners to develop the necessary learning content (if necessary) based on learnings, and undertake validation exercises with the young people to ensure that it is relevant and accessible and thereafter ensure that the learning management system is updated.
What does success look like?
At least every entrepreneur who undertakes the pre-accelerator completes it with a good understanding of the aspects of what it takes to build a scalable business model (outcomes). At least every entrepreneur in the accelerator is able to fully utilize the online learning content to address gaps and leverage market opportunities in their business
The feedback from entrepreneurs who have utilized the content provides good feedback on its relevance and viability. Investors who interface with the entrepreneurs’ report that our participants are investment-ready based on the material shared.
The pipeline of learners gets to complete the online learning content and qualify for follow-on opportunities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learning Strategy Development: Develop and implement a knowledge and learning strategy and action plan with clear goals, targets and indicators for the various programs supporting young innovators and entrepreneurs;
- Training delivery: Develop and deliver trainings to members and clients (corporates) utilizing the set trainer model to expand capacity;
- Customer relations: Monitor member and client feedback and maintain a commitment to continual program improvement and high levels of client satisfaction;
- Content development: Develop and manage content for learning courses and learning paths on entrepreneurship for our clients in close collaboration with the stakeholders;
- Develop and actively monitor work plans to deliver the hours required to meet requirements as well as client training needs;
- Strategic Planning and Advocacy: Research, identify and document experiences, lessons learned and good practices to guide improvements, strategic planning, advocacy and communication;
- Coaching and Mentorship: Facilitate coaching, mentorship network development, and mentorship matchmaking for the entrepreneurs in the programs;
- External training support: Support with the identification of any external training consultants when required and manage the Outbox-Consultancy relationship.
- Team management: You are expected to leverage agile practices to ensure that there is alignment with the rest of the team, and the work delivered is of great quality.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, social sciences, human resource or equivalent;
- At least 3 years of experience in entrepreneurship or mSME support.
- Strong communication (written and oral) and documentation skills; demonstrated knowledge of English and editing skills.
- Knowledge of adult instructional design approaches.
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
