Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters in Agricultural Sciences and related disciplines.
• PhD will be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in coordinating development programs.
• Experience in resource mobilization with evidence of funds mobilized from international community.
Evidence of publication in SCOPUS indexed journals. Flexibility in working schedule and willingness to travel at short notice.
Position Objective (Summary of placement in the function and broad responsibilities)
The Associate Program Officer shall be based at the implementing University.
He/she will perform the administrative function and day to day management and operations of the program unit and activities.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Program Coordinator at the implementing university in the administration and technical delivery of the program.
• Provide administrative support in the selection, recruitment and capacity building of program staff
• and scholars.
• Establishing partnerships with private sector, training
• TVETS and other institutions to advance university- community engagement, students entrepreneurship.
• Support the Program Coordinator and RUFORUM Secretariat team in mobilizing resources to support program activities for scaling and supporting other partner universities.
Output
• Participate in monthly program meetings.
• Proportion of resources raised to support scaling up and out.
• Monthly, quarterly and annual reports produced and shared with the Program Director at the RUFORUM
• Secretariat.
• Timely completion of studies by beneficiary students. Institutional transformation initiatives undertaken and respective outcomes.
• Program learning outcomes documented and published.
• Proportion of financial resources fundraised to support scale and sustainability of the program operations.
