About US:

Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) is a faith-based private University owned by the Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Associate Program Officer shall be based at the implementing University. He/she will perform the administrative function and day to day management and operations of the program unit and activities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Coordinator at the implementing university in the administration and technical delivery of the program.
  • Provide administrative support in the selection, recruitment and capacity building of program staff and scholars.
  • Establishing partnerships with private sector, TVETS and other institutions to advance university-community engagement, students training, entrepreneurship.
  • Support the Program Coordinator and RUFORUM Secretariat team in mobilizing resources to support program activities for scaling and supporting other partner universities.

 

Output

  • Participate in monthly program meetings.
  • Proportion of resources raised to support scaling up and out.
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reports produced and shared with the Program Director at the RUFORUM Secretariat.
  • Timely completion of studies by beneficiary students.
  • Institutional transformation initiatives undertaken and respective outcomes.
  • Program learning outcomes documented and published.
  • Proportion of financial resources fundraised to support scale and sustainability of the program operations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Masters in Agricultural Sciences and related disciplines.
  • PhD will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in coordinating development programs.
  • Experience in resource mobilization with evidence of funds mobilized from international community.
  • Evidence of publication in SCOPUS indexed journals.
  • Flexibility in working schedule and willingness to travel at short notice.
