Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant will handle the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, budgeting and budget monitoring, processing payments, and reviewing documents. They will also support internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports as per donor and institutional guidelines.
- Assist in budgeting and budget monitoring.
- Process payments and review financial documents.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Develop and maintain financial management systems.
- Ensure compliance with international donor financial reporting procedures and Government of Uganda policies, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or holding CPA, CFA, or CPMA certification.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in accounting/finance with bilateral or international funding or non-profit development agencies.
- Experience in developing project budgets and financial management systems.
- Experience in facilitating the development of accounting software.
- Significant knowledge of international donor financial reporting procedures and the Government of Uganda policies, rules, and regulations.
