Responsible for strategic & operational planning, overseeing the entire Supply Chain process, leading efficiency and integrity of the processes for procurement of commercial goods and commercial services. They supervise important functions, such as providing cost-benefit analysis, negotiating prices and managing client expectations for the organization.

Responsibilities
• Establish an overall Procurement strategy which identifies, prioritizes, evaluates, and manages procurement needs and opportunities.
• Manage the daily operation of the Supply Chain Team on field projects.
• Act as the main subject matter expert for Supply Chain Management, develop policies and procedures related to procurement, property management and fleet management.
• Oversee Markh purchasing system, Costpoint, and provide strategic direction on procurement actions, approval workflows and thresholds, and tracking related to Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders.
• Develop sourcing and procurement activities that support key business objectives.
• Establish and enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, while reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain.
• Make customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one’s actions
• Facilitates Other departments with Material and stock Prices for budgeting purposes
• Verify Vendor Claim and create Inventory Re-ordering Levels/system
• Budget casting for Markh and the Fuel stations in Bugembe, Hima and fuel variance checks
• Carry Out Monthly Stock Takes with Finance
• Management of Company Spare Parts Inventory, Cement Inventory, Tyre inventory, Tarpaulins and lubes inventory, batteries inventory
• Fuel management of Shell Bugembe and Shell Hima
• Coordinate with Finance on Supplier Account reconciliation
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreement
• Conducts Annual Review of the Company SLA system
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Present Business Case Income and Expenditure Analysis for Markh and Shell Fuel Business
• Provide coaching and mentoring for staff delegated authority to perform procurement functions.
• Maintain knowledge of URA Import/Export regulations and coach/train staff and ensure compliance
• Manage and oversee completion of tasks performed by Procurement staff.
• Conduct Audit to identify areas of weakness and ensure procurement controls are put in place.
• Adherence to ISO HSE, Quality and accounting principal requirements.
Person Specification
Education, Training, Skills & Experience Experience & Knowledge required (to do the job)
• Bachelors in Procurement management and Logistics management
• Masters’ degree similar field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ general management experience in the areas of Procurement and supply chain management reflecting the key duties of this role.
• Any other qualification in lie with procurement is an added advantage.
