The Area Sales Manager will spearhead strategic planning to establish local networks and exceed sales targets in a territory they are attached to. This field-based role involves recruiting, training, and managing a team of Agent openers. The incumbent will be responsible for agent recruitment, agent activity, agent liquidity and agent branding.
Key Responsibilities:
• Achieve and Surpass Sales Targets:
• Develop and expand local networks to achieve and exceed monthly sales.
Team Recruitment and Management:
• Recruit, train, coach, mentor, supervise, and retain a field-based team of agent openers to meet set targets aligned with CHAPCHAP AFRICA LTD business goals in the allocated market.
Performance Monitoring:
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of agent openers to ensure the achievement of sales targets and adherence to performance standards.
Reporting:
• Prepare and submit detailed weekly activity plans and reporting.
Incumbent Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.
Experience:
• 2+ years of management experience in a related sales field, such as micro-finance, financial services, mobile-money, FMCG, or other product/service in East Africa.
Skills:
• Experience in recruiting and managing commission sales agents.
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve direct sales.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
Attributes:
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with resilience and a “can-do” attitude.
• Willingness to work in rural areas.
• Fluency in local languages.
