Laboratory Technologists-Genomics x5 Ministry of Health

Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform routine laboratory procedures according to established protocols.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as DNA sequencers, PCR machines, and other molecular biology instruments
Prepare samples for genomic sequencing, including DNA extraction and purification.
• Analyze sequencing data and prepare reports on findings.
• Assist in the development and validation of new genomic tests and protocols.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications and Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or a related field.
• A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Three (3) years of working molecular microbiology experience and knowledge of genomics, population genetics, data science, and computational biology (hands-on experience with basic bioinformatics tools/software).
