About US:

PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is social enterprise with a mission to ‘expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa’. PEAS establishes and operates affordable secondary schools in Uganda and Zambia in areas where access to quality secondary education is limited due to cost and geographical barriers. PEAS launched an ambitious strategy in 2021, aimed at expanding Access to Quality education, ensure schools are Sustainable and invest in systems strengthening. With over 30 secondary schools in Uganda educating over 13,500 students, 40 staff at the Country Office and 900 staff working in the network schools, PEAS intends to recruit for various positions across the network as follows:

 

Job Summary:  We are seeking experienced educationalists to conduct qualitative data collection as part of our ongoing evaluation of the PEAS-DES Inspect and Improve Programme.

 

Those in the role will be conducting the World Management Survey, an interview designed to measure leadership skills within schools.

The surveys would be conducted over the phone, and last for around an hour. Training in use of the tool will be provided.

The roles will be temporary, running for around 3 weeks in June.

Reimbursement is 60,000 UGX per survey as well as a data and airtime allowance for contacting schools.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in social science or Education related course
  • Post graduate training in research is an added advantage.
  • Skills required: Moderating skills, good listener, Computer (ICT) skills.
  • Education Leadership or Conducting Qualitative Interviews
  • Desired Experience: Conducting research in an education setting, assigning scores to qualitative responses.
