Job Title:  Creative Activism and Communication Inspirator (Fresher Jobs)

Reports to: Field Program Coordinator with Matrix reporting to the Project coordinator – SPAII

Job Summary: The Creative Activism and Communication Inspirator will build the capacity of young Women, Youth Groups, Activista and refugees to integrate creative activism and superior communication products ,tools and platforms in their advocacy and activism activites and build their skills in claiming .defending and expanding the civic space using alternative communication.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structured and tailored training on digital activism and communications with selected youth groups and movements.
  • Facilitate the Development of documents such as training manuals and reference documents to be used by partner organizations in conducting digital campaigns for young people.
  • Conduct mentorship sessions for the target groups on digital advocacy and campaigns, documentation of evidence for digital advocacy (Activists, feminists, and youth leaders).
  • Convene monthly mentorship and coaching sessions with youth groups, activists and feminist movement groups to support learning acquired to trigger action for social change In their communities.
  • Strengthen Youth structures on best practices of engaging political and technical leadership and documenting evidence.
  • Conduct a boot camp to provide hands-on capacity building and technical support for young people, Youth groups and Activists on digital activism and related activities.
  • Coordinate and support selected youth structures in the documentation of evidence to inform digital advocacy campaigns on contextual structural challenges that exacerbate poverty and violence.
  • Conduct media boot camps to train different community groups on the basics of advocacy, communication and campaign using digital media.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a University Degree in Industrial Art and design or Mass Communication, or equivalent from a recognized institution; knowledge of adobe / graphics design will be an added advantage.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience from a recognized institution, preferably an NGO

 

Competencies:

  • Experience in conducting digital campaigns, preferably in a development context,
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing effective campaigns
  • Experience working with Youth and women groups
  • Ability to provide capacity building and support to people with diverse backgrounds and different degrees of digital expertise
  • Experience in working with diversified groups in rural and peri-urban set ups, must be knowledgeable in Human Rights based approach to programming and participatory tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in documentation and capturing learning
  • Planning and Budgeting skills;
  • Capacity building skills; Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills; Community mobilization and facilitation skills; Team player; Confidence, openness, and willingness to learn; Self-driven; Ability to work in community setting.
