About CSBAG:
• Civil Society Budget Advocacy Group (CSBAG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equitable and accountable budgeting processes in Uganda.
• Our mission is to ensure that public resources are allocated efficiently, transparently, and in a manner that prioritizes the needs of marginalized communities.
We work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to advocate for policies that foster inclusive development and social justice.

POSITION TWO: PROGRAM ASSOCIATE

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Research and Analysis:
a. Conduct thorough research on budgetary policies, fiscal trends, and socio-economic issues affecting Uganda and the regions.
b. Monitor policy developments and legislative changes related to public finance management, taxation, and social welfare programs.
2. Policy Advocacy:
a. Develop policy briefs, reports, and presentations to communicate research findings and policy recommendations to stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and the media.
b. Engage in advocacy efforts to influence budgetary decisions and policy reforms that promote social justice, poverty reduction, and sustainable development.
3. Capacity Building:
a. Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to CSBAG staff, partner organizations, and community leaders on budget analysis, advocacy strategies, and policy engagement.
b. Organize training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events to empower stakeholders with the skills and knowledge needed to participate effectively in budget advocacy efforts.
4. Collaboration and Networking:
a. Foster partnerships and collaboration with government agencies, academia, research institutions, and international organizations working in the field of public finance and governance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
a. Preferably a Master’s degree in economics, public policy, development studies, or a related field. A combination of relevant academic qualifications and practical experience may be considered.
b. Minimum of [3] years of experience in policy analysis, budget advocacy, or related fields, preferably within the context of national level
Strong understanding of public finance management, fiscal policies, and budgetary processes.
d. Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
Proven track record of conducting policy research, producing high-quality reports, and influencing policy decisions.
f. Demonstrated commitment to social justice, human rights, and poverty alleviation.
g. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
