Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate sachet packaging machines according to production schedules and specifications.
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance of production machines with assistance of the Engineering team.
- Operate production machines efficiently with less or no wastage.
- Control wastage of materials and recycling.
- Ensuring that the products produced are of good quality.
- Adhere to health and safety practices.
- To oversee housekeeping around the machine area.
- Check the materials provided to ensure rightful amounts and materials are provided.
- Inspect the machines regularly to ensure they are in good and operational condition.
- Detect and report any faults to the Plant Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic.
- Any other duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education with a bias in science subjects.
- One year of relevant experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Good communication skills including reading skills.
- An aptitude for math.
- Mechanical ability.
- Physical strength and stamina.
- The ability to work in high places.
- The ability to get along well with co-workers.
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technology.
- The ability to do precision work
