Job Purpose
The Manager Sales Coordination is accountable for developing weekly/ monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the personal banking business segment, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the personal banking sales performance against targets.
Key Result Areas
• Responsible for providing an annual Personal Banking sales plan, including the development of the sales budgets, and providing quarterly updates, execution, revisions, and modifications to the Plan.
• Set targets/goals for all his/her supervised sales staff, monitor sales performance and report on sales achievements, regularly.
• Develop, implement, and administer sales programs as necessary to maximize Personal Banking contribution to HFB’s B/S and P&L.
• Develop direct customer contact and relationships with major account holders to monitor & strategize for maximizing sales growth.
• Carry out sales visits to existing & potential top clients, identify sales leads, and report on the bank’s high-net-worth customers.
• Maintain relationships with top customers and ensure that services delivered meet client expectations.
• Submit regular performance reports and returns to the Manager Personal Banking.
• Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
• Ensure Sales growth in the various product portfolios by organizing and conducting sales campaigns.
• Enhance training, customer service and selling skills among sales staff and encourage cross selling amongst staff.
• Promote knowledge acquisition of the institution’s products to potential customers by organizing & coordinating sale promotions, talk shows, public presentations & meetings as may be guided by the supervisor.
• Maintain and update information on the company’s products or services (work closely with marketing, distribution, and institutional banking sections of the bank).
• Conduct regular sales meetings to address goals and progress to date and a review of individual performance among others.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the head of department or management.
Financial Responsibility
• Responsible for the personal banking sales budget
• Responsible for the personal banking sales business & financial
• targets as will be agreed using different parameters esp. On customer numbers, Liabilities, Assets, and revenue growth.
• Responsible for controlling costs to within agreed personal banking Sales budget.
Person Specifications
Education & Training
1. A Business degree in finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management or any relevant field.
2. Possession of a Certified banking qualification or master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
3. Relevant Practical training in business growth in the financial services sector
Skills & Experience
• Must have critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Banking or similar environment of which 3 must be in a Sales, Schemes and People management function.
• Must have an in-depth understanding about personal banking product features, pricing, benefits, positioning, design, and promotions.
• Advanced, computer literacy, numerical skills, and statistical skills.
• Interpersonal relationship skills, Assertive, “self-starter” personality that is energetic and a natural net worker.
• Team player, ability to work under pressure and in position to exercise excellent judgment.
