FCA Uganda is now looking for competent persons to fill the following positions for the; TOGETHER consortium’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) project.

 

Job Summary: The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for undertaking activities within the FCA/ECHO – TOGETHER project. The PM will supervise all the direct project staff under the project in their daily implementation of activities, analyse results achieved during implementation and support appropriate corrective measures. The PM will maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including the consortium manager, Settlement and District Local Government stakeholders. The PM reports to the Humanitarian Programme Manager and collaborate with the Grants team, and functional department heads for better programme delivery within the donor requirements. The PM will strengthen collaboration between consortium partners at settlement level, and other EiE actors, including participation in relevant coordination meetings.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Planning, Implementation and Management:

  • Spearhead the development of the annual work plan, procurement plan, and project budget and regularly update these throughout project implementation.
  • Initiate project kick-off meetings to align all staff with new project objectives.
  • Facilitate the execution of program activities by monitoring and following up on scheduled plans.
  • Aid in resource mobilization by conducting comprehensive needs assessments to inform proposal development.
  • Collaborate with the program and Grants team to create and implement technical guidelines for high-quality programming.
  • Work with the MEAL department to establish and execute a detailed M&E plan for effective project tracking and outcome measurement.
  • Regularly visit project sites to oversee activity implementation and financial management, employing results-based management approaches.
  • Compile and draft detailed reports on field visits, program achievements, and financial outcomes. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Engage in participatory monitoring to review program progress, evaluate target achievement, and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
  • Contribute to the creation of clear donor reports, ensuring timely submission in line with donor specifications.
  • Oversee budget execution and collaborate with the team for any required financial adjustments.
  • Offer insights on financial reports and project performance, participating in budget review meetings.
  • Assist in drafting proposals, shaping resource mobilization strategies, and managing program information for fundraising purposes.
  • Coordinate with the communications team to produce materials for advocacy and awareness raising.

Branding and Visibility:

  • Ensure adherence to FCA and donor branding guidelines across all consortium partners.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Project Planning and Management, Development Studies, Education, Social Work, or Social Sciences. Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Certification or significant experience in Project Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and project management software tools.
  • Practical knowledge of emergency response protocols.
  • Proven track record of networking and collaboration with local governments, international organizations and UN agencies.
